Concrete Made Soft ?

I could not stop looking at the seating Foster & Partners created for a bank lobby in Morocco.

The seat connects all the way to the dome above. So dramatic, so inventive and who would think that you can make concrete look so malleable.

A “Dressy” Ceiling

One of the most interesting ceilings I have seen in a while
Hilton Pattaya Hotel by Department of Architecture
It must feel lovely sitting under those lengths of fabric and to feel that the ceiling above you, which is normally a hard surface, is as soft as a flowing dress. It must be even nicer when the air conditioner is on and the fabrics are swaying and moving. Great contrast between the softness of the fabric and all the hard surfaces underneath.

Bursting Ceiling

Casa Fez by Álvaro Leite Siza Vieira, source: The Cool Hunter

Architect Álvaro Leite Siza Vieira created this beautiful ceiling in his home. Saw this on Nicky Haslam's blog in a post about "bursting" designs. You have to visit Siza's website, love his work, in this particular house love the mixture of old timbre with modern interiors.
