I like the curves of Vivian Beer’s “sculptural pieces. Some would argue that they are not comfortable, I would argue that not all furniture should follow function, sometimes form maybe the whole point.
I would not mind having this piece in a room on the side under a huge abstract painting. Visit her website for more beautiful sculptures.

I agree with you in that not all furniture is meant to be comfortable..and why must we be comfortable..?..seriously..
we place way to much emphasis on comfort..

Maureen, you are right, if the home has the right mixture of comfortable pieces to use, then you can get away with a few that are show pieces.

I have a show piece. My husband tried to sit on it and I yelled at him to get the f off! He didnt get it. It's a piece of art to me. I hope his mom never tries to sit on it. The chair wont hold much weight.
